End of Year Zazenkai and Jukai Ceremony

  • Fryerstown School 5 Camp Street Fryerstown, VIC, 3451 Australia (map)

You are warmly invited to join us for a very special day in the life of our sangha.

Taking the Precepts

To coincide with Rohatsu (The Buddha’s Enlightenment Day) and the end of our practice year together, we will be gathering for a Zazenkai and Jukai Ceremony, where two of our sangha members will be committing to a path of vital practice in the world.

This is an auspicious occasion for the whole community. Our two recipients of Jukai will read their personal vows, receive their hand-sewn rakusu (abbreviated robe), along with dharma name, dharma poem and documentation.

Attendance

You are welcome to register for the Zazenkai (inluding the Jukai Ceremony) or the Jukai Ceremony ONLY.

Zazenkai (8.45 - 12.30pm) — Places are strictly limited and open to members only. If you are not a member and would like to become one, please fill out the Castlemaine Zen Membership Form.

Jukai Ceremony ONLY (12.30 - 4pm) — The Jukai Ceremony is open to all, but please fill out the form to help us with out planning.

For those attending the Zazenkai, a vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free lunch (soup, bread and extras) will be provided.

For those attending the Jukai Ceremony only, please arrive in silence and wait to be invited into the dojo.

Whether you are coming for the whole day or just the Jukai ceremony, please bring some simple food to share for the celebration immediately after the ceremony.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to support your sangha friends as they take this significant step into a life of wholehearted practice.
