Jukai Ceremony - Taking the Zen Precepts

You are warmly invited to join us for a very special day in the life of our sangha. To coincide with Rohatsu (The Buddha’s Enlightenment Day) and the end of our practice year together, we will gather for Jukai, the Precept Ceremony, where two our sangha members will be committing a path of vital practice in the world.

This is an auspicious occasion for the whole community. The day will include a morning of sutras, zazen, kinhin and encouragment talk, followed by a shared lunch, Jukai Ceremony and informal celebration with refreshments.

Our two recipients of Jukai will read their personal vows, receive their hand-sewn rakusu (abbreviated robe) with dharma name, dharma poem and documentation of the day.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to support your sangha friends as they take this significant step into a life of deepening practice.
