To celebrate another great year together we will meet for Rohatsu, the Buddha's Enlightenment Day, on December 8 from 9am - 12pm.
This will be our final gathering for 2024, so please join us for a silent walk, shared picnic and traditional ceremony of 108 bells surrounded by trees, wind, granite and each other.
Rohatsu Yatra, Picnic and 108 Bells
Sun December 8, 9am - 12pm
Dog Rocks, Joseph Young Drive, Mt Alexander (map)
BYO Shared Morning Tea
The morning will start at the Dog Rocks carpark (map). We’ll enter silence and begin our yatra, breaking for morning tea along the way to explore the Buddha’s Enlightenment story. After morning tea we’ll re-enter silence and gather at Dog Rocks, a natural amphitheatre of granite and silence, where we’ll begin our ceremony of 108 bells. This is our customary way of celebrating our time together and the timeless moment we all share.
Don’t forget to bring sturdy boots, water, sunhat (and umbrella if it's wet), as well as something delicious for morning tea. Family, friends and children very welcome!
