Rohatsu Yatra, Picnic and 108 Bells at Dog Rock

  • Dog Rocks Joseph Young Drive Faraday, VIC, 3451 Australia (map)

To celebrate the end of another incredible year we'll meet for Rohatsu, the Buddha's Enlightenment Day. This will be our final gathering in 2024, so please come along for a silent walk, shared picnic and 108 bells. Family, friends and children very welcome!

Rohatsu Yatra, Picnic and 108 Bells
Sun 3rd December 9am - 12pm
Dog Rocks, Joseph Young Drive, Mt Alexander

The morning will begin at the Dog Rocks, after which we will enter silence and begin our yatra. After half an hour or so we will break for morning tea and share our reflections on the Buddha’s enlightenment story. To finish, we willl return to Dog Rocks and ring 108 bells. This is our customary ritual for ringing out the old year and welcoming the new.

Don’t forget to bring sturdy boots, water, sunhat (and umbrella if it's wet), as well as something to share for morning tea.
