Full Moon Zazen

  • Castlemaine Zen 133 Duke St Castlemaine Australia (map)
Enso by Hakuin Zenji

In Zen the full moon is synonymous with an awakened heart and mind. On the Monday closest to the full moon we offer an extended evening of zazen (seated meditation) with kinhin (walking meditation) and an Encouragement Talk from Kynan Sutherland Sensei.

This is a special invitation to enjoy the natural clarity of our world in the silent company of sangha friends.

PLEASE NOTE: We take hygiene very seriously at Castlemaine Zen. This is especially so with the spread of coronavirus. To view a list of our simple guidelines please visit our hygiene page.

You are welcome to attend for part or all of the Full Moon Zazen. However, we ask that you enter and leave in the periods of kinhin (walking meditation) that punctuate each round of zazen (seated meditation).

A $3 donation is appreciated to help us cover our costs. It is also customary to offer dana (voluntary donation) for the teaching, and a dana bowl is provided.

Orientation is available by request. If you are new to Zen and would like to learn more about the form and ritual, please email us here.
